(Supplied)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This\u00a0<strong><span>September 18<\/span><\/strong>, GMA Network proudly unveils its newest series,\u00a0<strong>Super Ma\u2019am<\/strong>, top billed by no other than Kapuso Primetime Queen\u00a0<strong>Marian Rivera-Dantes.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As she makes her comeback on\u00a0<strong>GMA Pinoy TV<\/strong>, Marian breathes life to\u00a0<em>Minerva Henerala<\/em>, the odd but soft-hearted and dedicated high school teacher who loves her students despite their naughtiness inside the classroom. Years ago she lost her mother and sister to a tragic archaeological accident. At the same site, she had a close encounter with mythical glowing winged-creatures and shape shifters called<em>Tamawo<\/em>, and she grew up believing that they exist among humans.<\/p>\n<p>As the years go by, the Tamawo have made their way into the city and abducts children to feed on their youthful energy. Now it is up to Minerva\u2019s alter-ego\u2014<em>Super Ma\u2019am<\/em>\u2014to become a Tamawo slayer and save the human world. \u00a0<em>Best teacher na, fantastic pa!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This series features the return of seasoned actress\u00a0<strong>Ms. Helen Gamboa<\/strong>\u00a0to GMA. She breathes life to the character of\u00a0<em>Lolita Honorio<\/em>, Minerva\u2019s grandmother who also encountered and believes in the Tamawo. She will also be Super Ma&#8217;am&#8217;s guide in her journey.<\/p>\n<p>Playing opposite Marian is the newest Kapuso heartthrob\u00a0<strong>Matthias Rhoads<\/strong>\u00a0as\u00a0<em>Trevor Jones<\/em>, an American archaeologist and writer who will fall in love with Super Ma\u2019am.<\/p>\n<p>Making Super Ma\u2019am\u2019s life a little more challenging and interesting are\u00a0<strong>Joyce Ching<\/strong>\u00a0as\u00a0<em>Dalikmata<\/em>, a powerful elemental being who transforms into a human and will eventually fall for Ace;\u00a0<strong>Kristoffer Martin\u00a0<\/strong>as\u00a0<em>Ace<\/em>, a Tamawo employed by Greta to do personal security work for her and Avenir;\u00a0<strong>Kevin Santos<\/strong>\u00a0as\u00a0<em>Casper<\/em>, a quirky media personality who reports weird happenings in the metro;\u00a0<strong>Isabelle de Leon<\/strong>\u00a0as\u00a0<em>Rafa<\/em>, the sexy and beautiful Tamawo who accompanies Avenir in her trainings;\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Andrew Gan<\/strong>\u00a0as\u00a0<em>Keno<\/em>, Greta\u2019s henchman; and\u00a0<strong>Jackie Lou Blanco<\/strong>\u00a0as\u00a0<em>Greta Segovia<\/em>, the main villainess and the radical and powerful Tamawo disguised as the rich benefactor of the school.<\/p>\n<p>Adding colour to Teacher Minerva\u2019s life are \u00a0her students and co-teachers:\u00a0<strong>Jillian Ward<\/strong>\u00a0as\u00a0<em>Michelle<\/em>, a genius 13-year old student of Minerva;\u00a0<strong>Enrico Cuenca<\/strong>\u00a0as\u00a0<em>Jake<\/em>, the geeky Math teacher;\u00a0<strong>Ash Ortega<\/strong>\u00a0as\u00a0<em>Kristy<\/em>, the kikay student of Minerva;\u00a0<strong>Marika Sasaki<\/strong>\u00a0as\u00a0<em>Dina<\/em>, the best friend of Kristy;\u00a0<strong>Vincent Magbanua<\/strong>\u00a0as\u00a0<em>Eric<\/em>, one of Minerva\u2019s mischievous students;\u00a0<strong>Ralph Noriega<\/strong>\u00a0as\u00a0<em>Onin<\/em>, also one of Minerva\u2019s unruly students;\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Meg Imperial<\/strong>\u00a0as\u00a0<em>Jessica<\/em>, the assistant principal at the school Minerva teaches at and is immensely jealous of her;\u00a0<strong>Ashley Rivera<\/strong>\u00a0as\u00a0<em>Teacher Rose<\/em>, one of Minerva\u2019s co-teachers who is the secret ally of Jessica;\u00a0<strong>Jerald Napoles<\/strong>\u00a0as\u00a0<em>Esteban<\/em>, the talkative janitor at Minerva\u2019s school that secretly loves Minerva;\u00a0<strong>Shyr Valdez<\/strong>\u00a0as\u00a0<em>Lailani<\/em>, the strict principal at Minerva and Jessica\u2019s school.<\/p>\n<p>Completing the cast are Minerva\u2019s family: \u00a0<strong>Al Tantay<\/strong>\u00a0as\u00a0<em>Chaplin Henerala<\/em>, Minerva\u2019s loving and caring father;\u00a0<strong>Julius Miguel\u00a0<\/strong>as\u00a0<em>Bixby Henerala<\/em>, Minerva\u2019s younger brother and who lacks the willingness to study; and\u00a0<strong>Kim Domingo<\/strong>\u00a0as\u00a0<em>Mabelle Henerala\/Avenir Segovia<\/em>, Minerva\u2019s lost sister raised by Greta to be a beauty queen and will be interested in Trevor.<\/p>\n<p>Joining them to play an equally important role is\u00a0<strong>Ms. Carmina Villarroel\u00a0<\/strong>as\u00a0<em>Ceres<\/em>, the great\u00a0<em>Tagachu<\/em>\u00a0who is heir to the powerful\u00a0<em>buntot pagi<\/em>\u00a0which gives her power to transform into a young Tamawo slayer. This buntot pagi will be passed on to her mentee and the chosen one Minerva to help her transform to become Super Ma\u2019am the Tamawo Slayer.<\/p>\n<p>Along with the special participation of\u00a0<strong>Ms. Dina Bonnevie<\/strong>\u00a0as\u00a0<em>Raquel Henerala<\/em>, a well-known archaeologist and Minerva\u2019s mother.<\/p>\n<p>Playing a very special role in the series is Philippine Comedy Queen\u00a0<strong>Ms. Aiai delas Alas.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Apart from the extraordinary mythical creatures, Super Ma\u2019am is a series that heralds the invaluable role of teachers as second parents of children in our society.
