Josefino Ramirez admits receiving P2 million as\u00a0donations from Magdalena Luy Lim Foundation established by Janet Lim Napoles, in a\u00a0statement sent to the Philippine Daily Inquirer.<\/p>\n<p>This was contrary to earlier reports of Luy\u2019s entry in his records for May 10, 2007, which\u00a0showed that Ramirez was issued a Metrobank check for P2.5 million.<\/p>\n<p>Luy\u2019s entry also revealed that Ramirez\u2019s check came from Sen. Bong Revilla\u2019s\u00a0worth P50 million PDAF project and was forwarded to him through the non-existing\u00a0nongovernment organizations (NGOs) created by Napoles.<\/p>\n<p>Ramirez also admitted that Napoles donated P434,451 (as recorded in Luy\u2019s entry\u00a0for Oct. 16, 2008) for his airplane ticket and the plane tickets of four Chinese priests\u00a0representing China to the World Apostolate Congress of Mercy in Rome. Ramirez said\u00a0he attended the congress as coordinator of Divine Mercy for Asia.<\/p>\n<p>Luy\u2019s entry however stated that the said amount which was coming from the bank\u00a0accounts of Napoles\u2019 NGOs was used to buy tickets for Ramirez\u2019s travel to Europe.<\/p>\n<p>However, he emphasized that he received the money in \u201cin utmost good faith and\u00a0without any knowledge as to the source of the funds,\u201d and that Napoles\u2019 mother was an\u00a0ardent devotee of the Divine Mercy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe used to help my charities since 2004, most especially the apostolate for China\u00a0because this is the only way that she can thank the Lord for the gift of her Catholic faith\u00a0as a Chinese. Before she died, Magdalena Luy Lim requested her children to continue\u00a0helping the apostolate projects of the Divine Mercy in the Philippines and in China,\u00a0through the foundation,\u201d Ramirez said in an Inquirer report.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHence, donations were made by the Magdalena Luy Lim Foundation for the various\u00a0projects of the Divine Mercy in the Philippines and in China,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p><em>With reports from Nancy Carvajal, Philippine Daily Inquirer<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA &#8212; Former Quiapo Church rector Msgr.
