United States (US) on Monday, faulted North Korea of \u2018begging for war\u2019 and urged to \u2018exhaust all diplomatic means before it is too late,\u2019 as the latter had its sixth nuclear test on Sunday.<\/p>\n

US Ambassador Nikki Haley in an emergency meeting of the United Nations (UN) Security Council said that Washington will present new sanctions resolution in the coming days, with a view to voting on September 11.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe must now adapt the strongest possible measures. Kim Jong Un’s action cannot be seen as defensive,\u201d Haley said.<\/p>\n

She furthered that the North Korean leader shows no understanding of the responsibilities of being acknowledged as a nuclear power, and Kim\u2019s \u2018abuse of use of missiles and nuclear threat shows that they are begging for war.\u2019<\/p>\n

The US Ambassador said that the US does not want a war but stressed that her country\u2019s patience is not limited.<\/p>\n

\u201cMembers of this council will no doubt urge negotiations and return the talks. But as I have outlined, we have engaged in numerous, direct, and multilateral talks with the North Korean regime. And time after time, they have not worked,\u201d she said citing 24 years of negotiation with North Korea.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, Pyongyang tested a hydrogen bomb reported to have created a magnitude of 6.3 tremor.<\/p>\n

Last Tuesday, a missile from North Korea was launched over Japan which crashed to the east of the country.<\/p>\n

Haley said that there were reports that North Korea is planning to launch another intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump was reported to be making high profile phone calls with South Korean President Moon Jae-in and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.<\/p>\n

Fox News said that Trump held a separate call with Chief of Staff John Kelly, Secretary of Defense James Mattis, and Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director Mike Pompeo.<\/p>\n

The White House said that the President will also speak with Australian President Malcolm Turnbull tomorrow.<\/p>\n

NHK World reported that Trump has also spoken with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe twice on Sunday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
