If you\u2019re a \u2018korean drama\u2019 fan or just someone who needs a movie recommendation, you might as well consider watching these five Korean movies which will be shown in this year\u2019s Korean Film Festival.<\/p>\n

According to a report from Manila Bulletin, the Korean Cultural Center (KCC) will launch the film festival on September 7 in the Philippines.<\/p>\n

The movies which will be showcased in the film fest includes \u201cHow to Steal A Dog,\u201d<\/em> \u201cTwenty,\u201d \u201cMy Brilliant Life,\u201d \u201cVery Ordinary Couple,\u201d<\/em> and \u201cKing of Jokgu.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The film \u201cHow to Steal A Dog\u201d<\/em> talks about 10-year-old Ji-so (played by Lee Re) who sees a missing dog poster with a $500 reward, which she believes can buy her family a house. They target a dog named Wolly, owned by a rich lady (played by Kim Hye-ja) who owns a restaurant where Ji-so\u2019s mom works. The film stars Lee Re, Kim Hye-ja, Choi Min-soo, Lee Ji-won and Lee Chun-hee.<\/p>\n

This film has bagged three awards at the 33rd<\/sup> Ale Kino! International Young Audience Film Festival in Poland. It was directed by Kim Seong Ho, who will attend the opening ceremony and will also conduct a director\u2019s talk at the UP Film Institute on September 6 and Film Development Council of the Philippines on September 8. \u201cHow to Steal A Dog\u201d<\/em> can be viewed at SM Megamall.<\/p>\n

Next on the movie list is \u201cTwenty\u201d<\/em> starred by actors Kim Woo-bin, Kang Ha-neul and 2PM\u2019s Lee Junho. The film centers on three best friends who turn 20 and must decide what to do with their lives.<\/p>\n

Do you miss Doctor Kang Mo-Yeon (played by Song Hye-kyo) from the Korean drama \u2018Descendants of the Sun\u2019<\/em>? Worry no more as she stars in \u201cMy Brilliant Life\u201d<\/em> along with Kang Dong-won. The movie is about a couple whose son is diagnosed with progeria, a genetic condition in children that manifests rapid aging.<\/p>\n

Lee Min-ki and Kim Min-hee also starred in the movie entitled \u201cVery Ordinary Couple\u201d<\/em> which is about a couple Lee Dong-hee and Jang Young, who broke up but they decided to give their relationship another chance.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe King of Jogku\u201d<\/em>, on the other hand, centers on the Korean sport jogku, a cross between football and volleyball. Actor Ahn Jae-Hong, who starred in the drama \u201cReply 1988\u201d,<\/em> headlined in the film.<\/p>\n

The Film Festival will run until October 15. It will be held in Davao from September 14-17, Iloilo from September 21-24, Cebu from September 28 to October 1, Pampanga from October 5-8, and Cavite from October 12-15. Admission is free and all films have English subtitles.<\/p>\n
