Tiwala kami sa<\/em>\u00a0president,\u00a0<em>na siya ang makakapagtapos ng deka-dekadang kaso,<\/em>\u201d Marcos said in an ambush interview on the sidelines of the House of Representatives\u2019 inquiry into the alleged irregular procurement of PHP66.45 million worth of vehicles by the Ilocos Norte government.<\/p>\n<p>Marcos said the family\u2019s lawyers will be the ones handling the supposed negotiation with the Philippine government in handing over part of their wealth amassed during the 14-year dictatorship of former President Ferdinand Marcos.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2019<em>Yung pamilya nag-uusap pa, pero nasa kamay ng mga abugado\u2026 Pag-usapan na lang ng mga abugado<\/em>,\u201d Marcos said.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, President Duterte said that the Marcos family is willing to \u201copen everything\u201d and \u201creturn\u201d to the government some wealth in question, including a few gold bars.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Marcoses &#8212; I will not name the spokesman &#8212; s<em>abi nila na<\/em>\u00a0they\u2019ll open everything and probably return\u00a0<em>\u2018yung nakita lang<\/em>,\u201d Duterte said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Sabi nila na, \u2018malaki ang<\/em>\u00a0deficit mo sa\u2026 maybe this year, ang projected deficit spending would be big,\u2019\u00a0<em>sabi niya. Baka makatulong. Pero hindi ito malaki<\/em>,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The President likewise said that an explanation was given by the Marcoses for the wealth in question and that he was accepting it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd the only reason really was\u00a0<em>sabi nila<\/em>, that the father was protecting the economy. Now, of course, the eventual\u00a0<em>kung maalis siya<\/em>. But he was thought of regaining the Malaca\u00f1an and that is why\u00a0<em>ganito ang lumabas. Parang naitago<\/em>,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will accept the explanation, whether or not it is true,\u00a0<em>wala na eh<\/em>. And they are ready to return.
