(PNA photo)\" width=\"280\" height=\"279\" srcset=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/bjmp.jpg 280w, https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/bjmp-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 280px) 100vw, 280px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-109457\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) (PNA photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Father of Abdullah and Omar Maute, Cayamora Maute, died on August 27 afternoon when his blood pressure shot up and had difficulty breathing, according to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).<\/p>\n<p>Maute was brought to the Taguig-Pateros District Hospital and was declared dead on arrival, Senior Inspector Xavier Solda, BJMP spokesperson told Rappler in a phone interview.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInitially, <em>sabi ng<\/em> warden, <em>tumaas ang<\/em> blood pressure <em>tapos nahirapan huminga, bumagal ang pulso <\/em>(the warden said, the blood pressure went up, he had difficulty in breathing, and his pulse rate slowed down.) Upon the assessment and recommendation of our medical team, <em>sinugod sa pinakamalapit na ospital <\/em>(he was rushed to the nearest hospital). He died past 3pm,\u201d Solda said in the same interview.<\/p>\n<p>However, BJMP director Serafin Barreto Jr. told Manila Bulletin that Maute was rushed around 2pm.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, <em>nakatanggap kami ng<\/em> report <em>galing sa kanila na isinugod nga sa ospital ngayon hapon pero namatay din ng<\/em> (we received a report that he was rushed to the hospital this afternoon but died by) 3:07pm,\u201d said in the same interview.<\/p>\n<p>In a separate statement sent to media, Solda said, \u201cLast August 9 he [was] complaining of body weakening and <em>manas<\/em> (body swelling).
