(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/officialrichardgutz\/photos\/p.10152593521897734\/10152593521897734\/?type=1&amp;theater\">Photo<\/a>:<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/officialrichardgutz\/\"> RICHARD GUTIERREZ\/Facebook<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>On Wednesday, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) filed several criminal charges involving falsification of public documents, versus \u2018La Luna Sangre\u2019 actor Richard Gutierrez, at the Department of Justice (DOJ).<\/p>\n<p>BIR sued Gutierrez for violating National Internal Revenue Code (NIRC) specifically, with one count of submission of falsified annual income tax return, six counts of submissions of falsified quarterly value-added tax (VAT) returns as violations to Article 172 of the Revised Penal Code in relation to Article 171 of the same code.<\/p>\n<p>Plus, a violation of Article 183 of the Revised Penal Code with two counts of submission of perjured affidavits.<\/p>\n<p>Allegedly, Gutierrez is guilty of four counts of making it appear that his annual Income Tax Return and quarterly VAT returns are filed by his representative \u2013 a violation of Section 255 of the NIRC of 1997, as amended.<\/p>\n<p>BIR filed these cases against Gutierrez\u2019s response in April this year; in which the now-Kapamilya actor was also involved in another tax evation case.<\/p>\n<p>Based on BIR\u2019s complaint at the DOJ then, Gutierrez and his production company, R Gutz Production Corporation allegedly failed to submit income tax returns and pay income tax in 2012, owing the government a total of P38.57 million including surcharges and VAT.<\/p>\n<p>On July, Gutierrez filed his counter-affidavit.
