{"id":111414,"date":"2017-08-11T02:17:34","date_gmt":"2017-08-11T06:17:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/?p=111414"},"modified":"2017-08-11T02:17:34","modified_gmt":"2017-08-11T06:17:34","slug":"pearl-harbor-non-profit-ceo-leaves-organization","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2017\/08\/11\/pearl-harbor-non-profit-ceo-leaves-organization\/","title":{"rendered":"Pearl Harbor non profit CEO leaves organization"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_109516\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-109516\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Untitled-design-2-300x225.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-109516\" src=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Untitled-design-2-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"FEATURED PHOTO\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-109516\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">FEATURED PHOTO<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>HONOLULU \u2014 A non-profit that supports National Park Service operations at Pearl Harbor said Thursday its CEO is no longer with the organization.<\/p>\n<p>Pacific Historic Parks didn&#8217;t disclose the reasons for Ray L&#8217;Heureux&#8217;s departure, saying it was a confidential personnel matter.<\/p>\n<p>The move came four months after the organization&#8217;s board placed L&#8217;Heureux on paid administrative leave while it investigated allegations made against him in an anonymous letter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRay is no longer with PHP and the reasons are a confidential personnel matter that cannot be discussed at this time,\u201d board member Jim VanDerKamp said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;Heureux left the organization on Aug. 4, VanDerKamp said.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;Heureux didn&#8217;t immediately respond to a text message seeking comment.<\/p>\n<p>Pacific Historic Parks runs a gift shop at the Pearl Harbor visitors&#8217; centre and raises money to support the USS Arizona Memorial. The Park Service relies on funds from the non-profit to help maintain the national landmark, which is visited by 1.8 million people each year.<\/p>\n<p>Jacqueline Ashwell, superintendent of the World War II Valor in the Pacific National Monument, said it wouldn&#8217;t be appropriate for her to comment on Pacific Historic Parks&#8217; internal matters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPHP is a strong partner, and we wish them well on their search for new leadership,\u201d Ashwell said in an emailed statement.<\/p>\n<p>VanDerKamp said the board would begin searching for a new CEO soon but he didn&#8217;t have details.<\/p>\n<p>Pacific Historic Parks&#8217; website said Aileen Utterdyke, the non-profit&#8217;s chief financial officer since 2012, has been serving as interim CEO.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;Heureux joined Pacific Historic Parks as CEO in late 2015.
