(pna photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>ILOILO CITY, August 1\u2014 \u00a0The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) continues with its drive to stop illegal numbers game and to meet the 15-day deadline to wipe-out the illegal gambling here.<\/p>\n<p>The 15-day timeline of the national headquarters of the Philippine National Police (PNP) started July 24.<\/p>\n<p>With seven days remaining, ICPO director Superintendent Remus Zacharias Canieso in a media interview on Tuesday assured that they are &#8220;pushing&#8221; to attain the objective.<\/p>\n<p>Canieso said that station commanders in the seven districts of the city, as frontliners, were directed to strengthen their efforts to arrest all the &#8220;bookies&#8221; or illegal numbers game in their areas of coverage.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our objective is to crash out the &#8216;bookies&#8217; and we are doing everything. We have already seen results,&#8221; he added, although he could not recall the number of apprehensions already made.<\/p>\n<p>PNP Director General Ronald dela Rosa recently said that police officers who failed to stop illegal gambling in their areas will be relieved.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If the output is low, it is automatic the commander will be relieved but we will really push to reach the objective,&#8221; he said.
