Imelda Josefa \u201cImee\u201d Marcos hopes everything will be back to normal operation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white;text-align: start;margin: 15.0pt 0in 15.0pt 0in\"><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt;font-family: 'Helvetica','sans-serif';color: black\">The governor on Thursday expressed gratitude to all Marcos supporters and prayer warriors in support of the so-called \u201cIlocos Six&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white;text-align: start;margin: 15.0pt 0in 15.0pt 0in\"><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt;font-family: 'Helvetica','sans-serif';color: black\">\u201cI hope we\u2019ll get back to normal operation at bumalik na tayo sa tunay na pagsisilbi sa bayan. Sana magkaisa tayo sa Ilocos Norte at mawala na ang pamumulitika,\u201d said Marcos in a radio interview.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white;text-align: start;margin: 15.0pt 0in 15.0pt 0in\"><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt;font-family: 'Helvetica','sans-serif';color: black\">On August 9, the governor and the Ilocos Six are again requested to attend the next hearing in Congress.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white;text-align: start;margin: 15.0pt 0in 15.0pt 0in\"><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt;font-family: 'Helvetica','sans-serif';color: black\">Specifically, the House committee on good government and public accountability has requested the governor to bring along copies of pertinent documents related to the utilization of tobacco excise tax in Ilocos Norte as well as ordinances, annual investment program, annual supplemental budget, logbook, journal or ledger listing all the checks transacted by the provincial government during the period of 2011 and 2012.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white;text-align: start;margin: 15.0pt 0in 15.0pt 0in\"><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt;font-family: 'Helvetica','sans-serif';color: black\">In addition, the governor is also requested to provide to the hearing committee copies of purchase request, obligation request and disbursement voucher regarding the provincial government\u2019s purchase of portrait bust sculpture and services for the development of the Paoay museum on July 17, 2012, the materials and installation of precast concrete for Paseo de Paoay museum, purchase of medicines and farm supplies which were distributed to the different municipalities in 2012.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white;text-align: start;margin: 15.0pt 0in 15.0pt 0in\"><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt;font-family: 'Helvetica','sans-serif';color: black\">The governor reiterated that the provincial government had been trying very hard to go through the normal process of bidding but there are instances when there is only one qualified supplier, hence, they resort to direct contracting such as what happened in the purchase of the controversial mini-trucks raised by Rep.
