MANILA, July 26\u2014 President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on Tuesday, July 25, expressed gratitude for the assistance of the private sector to the families of the fallen government troops in the conflict in Marawi.<\/p>\n

The Chief Executive witnessed the turnover of financial assistance from Go Negosyo Kapatid Family Fund and Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. during a ceremony at the Heroes Hall of Malaca\u00f1an Palace.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo the Go Negosyo Kapatid Family Care Fund under the Go Negosyo Kapatid for Marawi Program, your tireless efforts show that nothing is impossible as long as we work together,\u201d the President said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope that we can continue this harmonious partnership to bring back prosperity, not only for Marawi but for the rest of the country,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

President Duterte also acknowledged the participation of private sectors for the rehabilitation of the besieged Marawi City.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would like to commend our partners from the private sector for their participation in the rehabilitation of the city of Marawi,\u201d he said, adding that the humanitarian activities are continuous sources of hope for the thousands of displaced families in the region.<\/p>\n

During his speech, the President extended his condolences to the families of Filipino soldiers and policemen killed in action while fighting for the liberation of the Islamic City.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would like to extend my sincerest condolences to the families of our troops who perished fighting for the liberation of Marawi,\u201d the President said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know that no amount could equal the precious lives of your loved ones. May you find solace in the fact that the whole nation condoles with you in these trying times,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The Chief Executive also expressed grief over the loss of his troops who died in the line of duty.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Philippines will forever be grateful for their heroism,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, President Duterte assured policemen and soldiers that the government is behind them as they continue the noble fight against terrorists.<\/p>\n

\u201cTogether we will work assiduously to bequeath a peaceful and prosperous Philippines for the generations to come,\u201d he said. (PND\/PNA)<\/p>\n
