(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/oneilcarliermla\/photos\/a.424529157739301.1073741831.382044855321065\/692286847630196\/?type=3&amp;theater\" target=\"_blank\">Photo<\/a>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/oneilcarliermla\" target=\"_blank\">Oneil Carlier\/Facebook<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>CALGARY\u2014Alberta Premier Rachel Notley says her province understands all too well the toll wildfires can take and is sending help to those battling the blazes in British Columbia.<\/p>\n<p>Alberta has sent about 100 firefighters to B.C. to fight the flames along with another 60 people with experience in co-ordinating firefighting efforts.<\/p>\n<p>More than 230 wildfires in the province have forced 10,000 people out of their homes.<\/p>\n<p>Notley says Alberta understands how traumatic wildfires can be for communities after residents of Fort McMurray were forced to flee a massive wildfire last year.<\/p>\n<p>She says everyone has to come together to help when communities experience this kind of tragedy.<\/p>\n<p>Notley says Alberta officials will stay in touch with neighbouring B.C. and will continue to help in any way they can.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe&#8217;re all part of the same country and we know ourselves that this can be very, very trying times and we have a lot of expertise here in Alberta,\u201d Notley said following her pancake breakfast at the Calgary Stampede Monday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe&#8217;re going to make sure that we remain in touch and respond to the concerns that they have going forward because we know it&#8217;s tough.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Saskatchewan is also sending help to B.C. including two tankers, three aircraft, and 36 firefighters.<\/p>\n<p>Premier Brad Wall says the province is returning the favour from two years ago when La Ronge in the province&#8217;s north was faced with heavy wildfires.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou remember a few years ago in this province where we had a major evacuation of La Ronge, we had help from everywhere,\u201d he says. \u201cWe had help from Montana, from Colorado, from other provinces.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But he says the federal government could also get on board.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI&#8217;m not sure we shouldn&#8217;t, as a country, have some sort of a national resource to call upon.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CALGARY\u2014Alberta Premier Rachel Notley says her province understands all too well the toll wildfires can take and is sending help &hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":33,"featured_media":107319,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1482,18,5927,16],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-107314","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-breaking","category-news-ca","category-environment-nature","category-news","mauthors-the-canadian-press"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/107314","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/33"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=107314"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/107314\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/107319"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=107314"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=107314"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=107314"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
