{"id":106543,"date":"2017-06-29T00:05:07","date_gmt":"2017-06-29T04:05:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/?p=106543"},"modified":"2017-06-29T00:05:07","modified_gmt":"2017-06-29T04:05:07","slug":"17-bodies-found-in-philippine-city-under-rebel-attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2017\/06\/29\/17-bodies-found-in-philippine-city-under-rebel-attack\/","title":{"rendered":"17 bodies found in Philippine city under rebel attack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA, Philippines\u2014Philippine troops have retrieved 17 bodies believed to be of villagers killed by Muslim militants aligned with the Islamic State group who seized parts of southern Marawi city last month.<\/p>\n<p>Government spokesman Zia Alonto Adiong tells The Associated Press by telephone that troops and rescuers found the bodies Wednesday huddled in a grassy lot in the Marawi village of Gadungan, which troops have cleared of militants.<\/p>\n<p>Military spokesman Brig. Gen.
