MANILA — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) plans to issue an upgraded voters’ ID.<\/p>\n

This, as the poll body is set to hold a bidding next month for a service provider for the printing of the Enhance Voters’ ID.<\/p>\n

The Comelec noted that it would be pilot tested in the National Capital Region (NCR).<\/p>\n

The undertaking has an approved budget for the contract (ABC) of Php150 million for the printing of 3 million pieces of voters’ ID at a unit cost of PHP50.<\/p>\n

“Bids received in excess of the ABC shall be automatically rejected at bid opening,” said the Comelec – Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) on its Invitation to Bid.<\/p>\n

It added that the complete set of Bidding Documents may already be acquired by interested bidders until July 17, from Mondays to Saturdays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Comelec-BAC Secretariat office for a fee of PHP50,000.<\/p>\n

The Pre-Bid Conference will be held on July 3 at 10 a.<\/p>\n
