Malacanang\/ Facebook<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>MANILA\u2014Malaca\u00f1ang on Thursday welcomed the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey which showed an increase in the overall public satisfaction with the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella noted that public appreciation on the Duterte administration continues to grow as shown in the SWS rating released Wednesday that gave the national government a net satisfaction rating of +66, an increase of five points from the +61 percent reported in December 2016.<\/p>\n<p>According to the SWS survey released Wednesday, 75 percent of the respondents said they were satisfied with the national government as compared to nine percent who were not satisfied and 16 percent undecided.<\/p>\n<p>The poll was conducted from March 25 to 28<\/p>\n<p>The +66 net rating for the Duterte administration qualifies as \u201cvery good,\u201d the second highest in the SWS scale.<\/p>\n<p>The SWS classifies net satisfaction ratings of at least +70 as \u201cexcellent\u201d; +50 to +69 as \u201cvery good\u201d; +30 to +49, \u201cgood\u201d; +10 to +29, \u201cmoderate\u201d; +9 to -9, \u201cneutral\u201d; -10 to -29, \u201cpoor\u201d; -30 to -49, \u201cbad\u201d; -50 to -69, \u201cvery bad\u201d as well as -70 and below as \u201cexecrable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Citing the SWS, Abella said the \u201cvery good\u201d net satisfaction rating in the First Quarter SWS survey is reflected in Classes ABC, D and E and across all geographic areas, except in Mindanao, which gave the current government an \u201cexcellent\u201d rating.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe believe that the significant gains of the Duterte administration have started to be felt by our people as they rated the government \u2018very good\u2019 in the area of helping the poor and \u2018good\u2019 in the following areas, namely: fighting terrorism, defending the country\u2019s territorial rights, providing jobs, fighting crimes, eradicating graft and corruption, solving the problem of extra judicial killings, reconciliation with Muslim rebels, and reconciliation with communist rebels,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>In the SWS survey, the administration also got \u201cgood\u201d scores for \u201cdeveloping science and technology\u201d at +49; \u201cfighting terrorism\u201d +47; \u201cdefending the country\u2019s territorial rights\u201d at +46; \u201cproviding jobs\u201d at +43; \u201cfighting crime\u201d at +41; \u201ceradicating graft and corruption\u201d at +39;
