{"id":101914,"date":"2017-05-10T22:38:10","date_gmt":"2017-05-11T02:38:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/?p=101914"},"modified":"2017-05-10T22:38:10","modified_gmt":"2017-05-11T02:38:10","slug":"saskatoon-woman-accused-of-sending-suspicious-packages-facing-more-charges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2017\/05\/10\/saskatoon-woman-accused-of-sending-suspicious-packages-facing-more-charges\/","title":{"rendered":"Saskatoon woman accused of sending suspicious packages facing more charges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SASKATOON \u2013 A woman accused of sending suspicious packages to Saskatoon businesses and schools is facing more charges.<\/p>\n<p>Police say Alexa Emerson has been charged with six additional counts of uttering threats after a series of bomb threats sent to Saskatoon businesses and a high school in April.<\/p>\n<p>The threats were sent via email, but no bombs were found.<\/p>\n<p>The bomb threats were all received after she surrendered herself to police on April 10 involving charges over white powder scares in the city.<\/p>\n<p>Emerson, who has also gone by the name Amanda Totchek, is expected to appear in provincial court on May 18 to respond to the new charges.<\/p>\n<p>The 31-year-old now faces a total of 75 charges stemming from nearly 20 incidents since November.<\/p>\n<p>She was first charged after five suspicious packages containing a harmless white powder were delivered to businesses on Nov. 29, 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Since then there have been eight white powder scares and six bomb threats at two schools and the University of Saskatchewan Cancer Centre.<\/p>\n<p>Emerson is facing 25 counts of uttering threats, 13 counts of mischief over $5,000, 13 counts of public mischief, six counts of identity theft and 18 counts of breach of recognizance.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SASKATOON \u2013 A woman accused of sending suspicious packages to Saskatoon businesses and schools is facing more charges.
