MANILA (PNA) — With the retirement of Lt. Gen. Alan Luga Monday, Lt. Gen. Virgilio Domingo will act as the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) vice-chief-of-staff.
This was revealed by AFP public affairs office chief Lt. Col. Ramon Zagala.
Luga formally retired from the military service after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 56.
He served the country for 33 years.
“We have no information yet on who will replace Gen. Luga for the moment, Gen. Domingo will serve as the acting AFP vice-chief-staff,” he added.
Zagala said that Domingo will assume this function until he is confirmed for the position or someone more senior is appointed for the post.
