Philippine president arrives in Myanmar on state visit

YANGON–Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte arrived in Nay Pyi Taw Sunday on an official visit to Myanmar, official sources said.

Duterte’s two-day trip comes four years after former Myanmar President U Thein Sein visited the Southeast Asian member country in December 2013.

The Philippines ranks the 16th on the list of 49 countries and regions making investment in Myanmar which is also home to about 1,800 Filipinos working mainly in foreign firms and international organizations.
