MANILA—Officers, enlisted personnel and civilian employees detailed at Philippine Navy (PN) headquarters in Naval Station Jose Andrada, Roxas Boulevard, Manila got a glimpse of the beautiful women vying for the Miss Universe 2016 crown during a brief stopover at the base Thursday morning.

This took place prior to the candidates’ boarding the yacht, M/Y Happy Life, which was docked at the facility’s Commodore Divino Pier, said PN spokesperson Capt.

PN flag-officer-in-command Vice Admiral Ronald Joseph Mercado headed the welcoming party who accorded these lovely women military honors.

Sailors also lined up snappily near the edges of the pier, demonstrating the traditional “manning the rail”, a method of saluting or rendering honors, Lincuna added.
