Severe tropical storm ‘Carina’ will no longer directly affect the country as it already exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Monday morning, state weather bureau Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

With this, all tropical cyclone warning signals are now lifted.

Meanwhile, moderate to heavy rains may be expected within 500 km diameter of “Carina”.

Fisherfolks are still warned against rough to very rough seas over the seaboards of northern Luzon, eastern seaboard of central Luzon and western and southern seaboards of southern Luzon.

Moderate to heavy rains associated with southwest monsoon may affect MIMAROPA, the rest of northern Luzon, Zambales, Bataan. This may trigger flash floods and landslides, PAGASA added.

‘Carina’ was last eyed at 330 km northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.

Meanwhile, PAGASA said thunderstorms are more likely to develop over Albay and Puerto Princesa city within the next 12 hours.
