Philippine Consulate General in Milan conducts open forum with Filipino community leaders

The Philippine Consulate General in Milan, led by Consul General Marichu Mauro and special guest, Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Undersecretary for Migrant Workers’ Affairs Jesus I. Yabes, conducted an open forum with Filipino community leaders on the problems of Filipinos in Italy on April 8.

During the forum, the Filipino community leaders asked questions on Assistance-to-Nationals concerns and services of the Consulate.

Undersecretary Yabes conveyed the Philippine Government’s commitment in protecting the rights and promoting the welfare of Filipinos overseas. He also emphasized DFA’s duty to provide assistance to distressed Filipinos abroad.

Consul General Mauro also took the opportunity to meet the community leaders for the first time and engage them to participate in upcoming meetings in line with the Consulate’s continuing commitment in providing quality service to all Filipinos under its jurisdiction
