MANILA – With the prevailing dry spell and absence of rains, Metro Manila water concessionaire Maynilad Water Services Inc. resumed water supply interruptions in several areas over the weekend.
“We are constrained to resume the daily service interruptions in the west zone immediately to help manage the low volume of water reaching our treatment plants,” Maynilad said in a Philippine Star report.
After Typhoon Lando, water elevation at the Ipo Dam lowered. This prompted Maynilad to implement seven-hour daily interruptions from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. which would affect customers who lived in elevated areas and in places farthest from pumping stations.
“We appeal to our customers for their continued patience and understanding as we try to maximize the effects of the water reduction in our operations,” the company said.
Last month, Maynilad suspended water service interruptions as water elevation at the Angat Dam increased due to constant rains.
