Twenty-nine (29) road sections are closed to traffic, eight (8) in CAR, seven (7) in Region II and fourteen (14) in Region III due to Typhoon “Lando”.
Per monitoring report as of 6 AM of October 19, 2015 to Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Rogelio L. Singson, Kennon Road was ordered closed to traffic due to falling debris/landslides.
Several other road sections in CAR remain not passable to all types of vehicles due to landslide including Conner-Kabugao Road K00584 and Claveria-Calanasan Road K0707+650, Mapalong Section in the Province of Apayao; Benguet-Nueva Viscaya Road, K00314+600, Pakak Section due to slides and Acop-Kapangan-Kibungan-Bakun Road, K0304+250 due to sinking roadway in the Province of Benguet; Banaue-Mayoyao-Aguinaldo- Isabela Road at Km 361+600-Km 367+800 due to slides, and Jct. Potia-Mt. Province Boundary Road due to fallen trees in the Province of Ifugao.
In Mountain Province, Jct. Talubin-Barlig-Natonin- Paracelis-Calaccad Road particularly at K0432+300, Pudo Section and Tonglayan, Natonin are impassable to all types of vehicles due to slides while Pinukpuk-Abbut Road at K0533+600 and K0479+600 and K0479+630 Gapang Section in the Province of Kalinga are closed to traffic due to soil collapse.
Cabagan Sta. Maria Overflow Bridge along Cabagan -Sta.Maria Road in the Province of Isabela, Itawes Overflow Bridge along Cagayan Apayao Road Section and Tawi Overflow Bridge along provincial road of Penablanca, Cagayan in Cagayan Province are both not passable due to flooding.
The following roads in the Province of Quirino are closed to vehicular traffic due to fallen rocks and slides: Cordon-Aurora Bdry. Road, K0406+000, Junction Abbag-Guingin Bdry Road, K0396+500, Brgy. Landingan, Nagtipunan, and Junction Victoria-Madella-Kasibu, K0381+700.
Aritao-Quirino Road at K0277+200 in Nueva Viscaya is also closed to traffic due to slides.
The Baler-Casiguran Road in the Province of Aurora where Typhoon “Lando” made its first landfall is severely affected by flooding, fallen trees and electrical posts particularly at the following sections: K0244+000 to K0351+210 (Intermittent section), KO232+254 – KO233+000, Agwang River, K0311+950, Abuleg Spillway, K0319+624, Bungo River, K0319+900 to K0319+950
The Dinadiawan-Madella Road at K0300+800 is not passable to all types of vehicles due to washed out road section while K0295+403 – K0309+2552 is affected by fallen electrical posts and trees and Palamigan River crossing K0300+200 is impassable due to flooding.
Also closed to traffic are the Nueva Ecija-Aurora Road, KO171+829 – KO232+771 due to mudflows, fallen electric posts and trees, and flooding and Alfonso – Castañeda – Maria Aurora – San Luis Road, ACMASAL, Brgy. San Isidro (San Luis Aurora Section) due to flooding.
In Nueva Ecija, Labi Bridge at Km. 161+666 Barangay Labi, Bongabon and Bato Ferry Bridge along Jct Tablang-Gabaldon Road at Barangay San Felipe, Laur are not passable to all types of vehicles due to washed out bridge approach. Sections of Jct. Tablang-Gabaldon Road at KO154+000 and KO157+000 are also affected by mudflows and flooding.
Affected by severe flooding are following roads in Nueva Ecija not passable to all types of vehicles: Nueva Ecija-Aurora Road, Nunduran Creek km 154+000, KO153+600 – KO154+100, KO148+900 – KO149+050, KO148+400 – KO148+450, KO138+800 – KO141+100; Daang Maharlika Road, Brgy. Castellano, San Leonardo KM 98+800; and Gapan – San Fernando – Olongapo Road Brgy. San Nicolas Km 115+550 (Gapan City Section).
Detour road at KM168+484, Brgy. Amucao along Tarlac-Sta. Rosa Road in La Paz and at KM148+490, Brgy. Guiteb along Paniqui-Ramos Road in Ramos both in the Province of Tarlac are impassable due to floodwater.
The Daang Maharlika Road at Camias Section (KO076-KO077), Salacot Section (KO079+600 – KO078+800), Cambio Section (KO082+100 – KO082+600) and Sta. Rita-Camias Old Road (Camias Section, KOO76) all in the Province of Bulacan are not passable to all types of vehicles due to flooding.
DPWH has installed warning signs while clearing operations on affected roads are on-going.
