MANILA – Billy Crawford, who has been set to host ABS-CBN’s newest game show “Celebrity Playtime,” downplayed competition with GMA’s “Sunday Pinasaya” and other rival shows.

“Honestly, I just try to do the best I can as a host, I really don’t think of any competition,” Crawford said in an interview with the Philippine Entertainment Portal.

“Not being overconfident or anything, kung sa akin lang, I just want to concentrate on my part, sa trabaho and I don’t know kung ano yung pinapalabas sa kabila,” he added.

(Not being overconfident or anything, but for me, I just want to concentrate on my part, on the job and I don’t know what they are showing in the other network.)

Celebrity Playtime has been set to air its pilot episode on Saturday. In this talk-comedy-game show, ‘celebri-teams’ will be competing against each other in house party games.

It’s Showtime vs. Eat Bulaga

Aside from Celebrity Playtime, Crawford has also been hosting daily noontime show “It’s Showtime” which has been airing alongside GMA’s “Eat Bulaga.”

To this, he would also rather not dwell on the competition aspect of the programs but focus on making viewers happy instead.

“We’re just here. We’re enjoying what we’re doing. Ang goal lang talaga namin is mapasaya ang tao… Basta we’re here to work and we want the best for everyone,” he said in a different interview, adding that he respected Eat Bulaga’s main hosts Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon whom he regarded as ‘one of the pillars of the industry.’

(We’re just here. We’re enjoying what we’re doing. Our only goal is to make people happy… We’re just here to work and we want the best for everyone.)
