MANILA – A Palace executive on Thursday decried the allegations connecting Interior and Local Government Secretary and Liberal Party (LP) presidential bet Mar Roxas to the fake Php 500 bills sent to the House of Representatives media office Thursday.

“What you described is apparently the handiwork of those who wish to portray Sec. Roxas in a bad light,” Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. said.

“(This deed) depicts their preference to engage in negative campaigning which is diametrically opposed to our advocacy of Daang Matuwid,” he added.

The fake Php 500 bills, placed in white envelopes, have the face of Roxas instead of the former President Corazon Aquino and former Senator Benigno Aquino Jr., the parents of the President Benigno Aquino III.

A note came with the fake money and its says “Salapi pa more!!!”
