MANILA, Philippines– A technical problem on Metro Rail Transit’s (MRT 3) emergency brake triggered an accident that hurt at least 10 people, Wednesday morning, police said.
Three successive northbound trains from MRT Taft Avenue, Magallanes and Ayala Stations stopped suddenly, leaving five passengers from Ayala, four from Magallanes and one from Taft Avenue injured, Makati Police chief Senior Superintendent Manuel Lucban said.
Other four passengers were brought to Makati Medical Center to receive treatment, he added.
Rescue teams from the Makati government and Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) were still checking if more passengers were injured.
