VANCOUVER – The Mayors’ Council today released the details of their transit and transportation referendum campaign budget.
The final campaign budget for the Mayors’ Council education and information campaign to promote a “yes” vote was $5,814,851.
As mandated through provincial legislation, the Mayors’ Council is funded through TransLink. In January, the TransLink Board allocated up to $6 million to support the public outreach and engagement activities during the referendum vote.
The budget was overseen by a joint steering committee struck by the TransLink Board and the Mayors’ Council. All contracts were allocated through TransLink’s procurement system, and all procurement guidelines were followed.
