Package that closed part of West Edmonton Mall turns out to be DVD player

EDMONTON — A portion of West Edmonton Mall was closed to shoppers Tuesday as police investigated a suspicious package.

Officers said they determined after an hour that a mysterious box left on a bench outside a sports store was a DVD player.

Another case of aging technology caused alarm last week in Vancouver.
