MANILA — Malaysian travel agents tagged Boracay as the best beach destination for the year.
The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta) declared it as the “Favorite Beach Destination 2015,” according to the Philippine Embassy in Kuala Lumpur.
Boracay was praised by Matta organizing committee chair Jayakumar S. Sinnadurai commending its rich natural resources and biodiversity.
“It is our pleasure that Malaysians discover the island, with its pristine white sands and breathtaking beaches, which captivate many visitors for nature tripping, water sports and beach hopping,” Ambassador J. Eduardo Malaya said.
The embassy also launched the “Second Ambassador’s Tour to the Philippines,” inviting Malaysians to visit Cebu and Bohol.
“A flurry of festivals, concerts, conferences and other events will draw both domestic and foreign tourists. The country is also hosting the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meetings, where the delegates will congregate in different Philippine cities to talk about inclusive growth for their respective citizens and, during their downtime, take in all the beautiful sights the Philippines has to offer,” Malaya said.
