CALGARY—A cool-headed driver is being credited with rescuing twelve students in Calgary from a burning school bus.
When fire crews responded to emergency calls Wednesday morning they found the bus engulfed in flames.
The driver of the bus had noticed smoke coming from the dash so she quickly pulled over to the side of the road and got all 12 children safely off the vehicle.
Carol Henke (hen-kee) with the Calgary Fire Department says the driver deserves credit for her quick reaction.
None of the elementary school students were hurt.
The cause of the fire that destroyed the entire front of the bus is under investigation.
