MANILA — Avelino “Samboy” Lim, now-retired Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) player and hoops legend, is still confined in the intensive care unit (ICU) of The Medical City hospital in Ortigas; although his cardiac status and vital signs are now stable, the hospital’s corporate communications manager said.
The 52-year-old former s a former professional basketball player for San Miguel Beer and many time national player in the 1980s lost consciousness at an exhibition game on Friday, and was rushed to The Medical City following his collapse.
Lim’s family likewise expressed their gratitude for the support they have received from the public, as well as asked for continued prayers for Lim.
