Charice talks about her sexuality in Oprah show: ‘My soul is male’

By on October 21, 2014

Filipina international singer Charice Pempengco was invited to guest in The Oprah Winfrey Show’s special episode ‘Oprah: Where Are They Now?’ six years after she first met the Queen of the Talk Oprah Winfrey.

One of the questions Oprah asked Charice was if the singer has been thinking of fully transitioning to male considering that she has already admitted being a lesbian in 2013.

“Not exactly transitioning to, like, a male-male. Basically, my soul is male, but I’m not going to go through that stage where I’m going to change everything,” Charice answered.

“[I’ll] cut my hair and wear boy clothes and everything, but that’s all,” she added.

Charice also shared that as a kid, she was already sure of her gender identity.

“I was in grade school and I saw this girl, and I felt different. I didn’t know what it was, but I just knew… it felt special. And when I was 10, I was like ‘Oh, that’s it, I’m gay.’ I found the word for who I really am,” Charice said.

Charice has been invited to guest in the talk show four times already since 2008. She has been regarded by the multimillionaire host as ‘the most talented girl in the world.’ Charice has also been able to perform duets with her idols, including Celine Dion.
