Court of Appeals has 3 new magistrates

MANILA – The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday announced three new appointments made by Malacañang to the Court of Appeals (CA).

President Rodrigo Duterte picked Anisah B. Amanodin-Umpa, Bautista Gler Corpin Jr., and Roberto Patdu Quiroz as new magistrates of the appellate court.

The three new magistrates would fill the vacancy left by Associate Justice Henri Jean Paul B. Inting who was appointed to the Supreme Court in May of last year,
Associate Justice Carmelita S. Manahan who retired in March last year, and the late retired Associate Justice Normandie B. Pizarro.

At the start of 2020, the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) submitted to President Duterte 32 nominees to fill vacant positions in the Court of Appeals (CA) after interviewing 67 applicants.
