‘Vicky’-affected families now 16.7K

MANILA – The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Tuesday reported that the number of families affected by Tropical Depression Vicky has now reached 16,762.

In its update, the agency said this is equivalent to 68,088 persons residing in 239 barangays in Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Davao Region, and Caraga.

Of this figure, 1,053 families or 4,791 persons are now being served in 48 evacuation centers while 1,180 families or 4,627 individuals are now being aided outside.

Also, 235 houses were reported damaged in Central Visayas, Davao Region, and Caraga.

Of these, 120 were classified as totally damaged while 115 were recorded as partially damaged. Meanwhile, the number of dead remained at eight with two injured and one missing.

Around PHP117,240,000 worth of infrastructure damage was also recorded in Bicol, Davao Region and Caraga while damage to agriculture was estimated at PHP5,272,835 in Davao De Oro.
