New Covid-19 recoveries hit 305

MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday reported that 305 individuals have successfully recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), bringing the country’s total recoveries to 275,237 or 90.4 percent of all cases.

In its daily Covid-19 bulletin, the DOH also reported 1,639 new cases, bringing the total active cases to 31,805 or 7.7 percent of all cases.

Of these active cases, it said 84.7 percent are experiencing mild symptoms, followed by those without symptoms or asymptomatic at 8.1 percent, those in critical condition at 4.5 percent, severe cases at 2.4 percent, and moderate cases at 0.21 percent.

Davao City once again topped the list of areas with the highest number of new cases at 113, followed by Laguna at 76, Quezon City at 75, Rizal at 75, and Cavite at 63.

The DOH said 27 new deaths were reported, bringing the country’s Covid-19 fatalities to 8,025 or 1.93 percent of all cases.

The country has so far recorded a total of 415,067 cases of coronavirus.

To date, about 55 percent of the country’s 1,900 beds at intensive care units (ICU) remain available, 60 percent of 13,500 isolation beds are unoccupied, 69 percent of 5,900 ward beds are unoccupied, and 79 percent of 2,000 ventilators are unused.
