MANILA – Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) spokesperson Gabriel Chaclag has tested positive for the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

“The swab test was done on Tuesday and the result just came out today. He has since been quarantined with mild symptoms,” the BuCor said in a statement on Saturday.

Following the announcement, BuCor advised all personnel and staff who might have come in contact with Chaclag since last week to visit the Directorate for Health Sevices (DHS) for assessment and swab testing.

“This is also to inform other stakeholders, partners from the media and NGOs who might have been exposed to seek immediate medical advice,” it added.

Meanwhile, two more personnel working as close in staff of BuCor Director General Gerald Bantag earlier tested positive for the Covid-19 virus.

Bantag has also undergone a swab test and is awaiting results due for release on Monday, Sept. 21.
