Popular fast-food chain McDonald’s has reportedly closed a store in Burnaby temporarily after an employee got infected with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The restaurant at 7229 Kingsway learned on Wednesday that the employee, who last worked on Sunday afternoon, got a positive COVID-19 test result.
Cleaning and sanitization of the restaurant have been conducted and that other crew members who may have been in close contact with the infected employee have also been advised to self-quarantine.
This is the latest McDonald’s restaurant to temporarily shut down in Metro Vancouver, following the company’s store in Surrey in July and the other one in Richmond last Tuesday after a COVID-19 case was identified among their staff.
British Columbia on Thursday reported another 139 new infections, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 6,830.
