When you open Google today in the Philippines, the first thing you would notice on its homepage is a doodle of a man smiling widely in the middle of the search giant’s logo.
Google temporarily changed its blue-red-yellow-green-colored logo to the abovementioned look on Saturday, July 25, in celebration of the 92nd birth anniversary of the late Rodolfo “Dolphy” Quizon, a.k.a the Philippines’ “King of Comedy” — the man being referred to in the tech giant’s logo.
Once a user clicks it, they will be automatically directed to the information related to the Comedy King.
“Happy birthday, Dolphy! Thank you for sharing the gift of laughter across generations,” Google said.
Dolphy’s son, actor-director Eric Quizon shared the doodle on his Instagram post, thanking Google for continuing his father’s legacy. In another post, Eric shared a photo of him posing beside Dolphy’s grave, along with a caption, “He would have been 92 today. Happy Birthday Dad! I will eat for you. #cheersinheaven.”
Vandolph, also Dolphy’s son, paid a tribute on his father’s birthday, posting a captured moment of them together.

The Comedy King had his first small movie role at the age of 19 and since then, he starred in hundreds of films and television series, touching the hearts and bringing loads of laughter to millions of Filipino. In July 2012, Dolphy passed away at the age of 83, leaving behind a bunch of happy memories to many.
