Remember that young boy who obtained several injuries on his face and needed 90 stitches after he protected his sister from a charging dog by standing between them? He was named by the World Boxing Council (WBC) as its “Honorary Champion” and was given a championship belt.

On Twitter, the WBC posted a photo of the six-year-old, Bridger Walker, who was seen letting out a big smile as he carried the belt in his hands.

“AND THE NEW WBC CHAMPION OF THE WORLD, Bridger ‘The bravest man on Earth’ Walker,” it wrote.

In its news release, the WBC called Bridger’s actions a representation of  “absolute best values of humanity.” Apart from the “Honorary Champion” belt, the WBC said they also give him and his sister some presents.

Bridger’s aunt, Nikki Walker, shared the same photo on Instagram, saying she was not expecting WBC to send the championship belt when they told her they will be sending one to Bridger. “I didn’t realize it would be THAT belt,” she said.

Nikki also thanked those who had sent and have been sending Bridger messages, cards, and packages.

“It’s been such a surreal experience for us, because we recognize that each envelope and box represents an individual or family who used their time and resources to wish Bridger well,” she wrote, hoping that they could meet those kind individuals to personally expressed their gratitude.

“Our hearts are filled to overflowing, and thank you hardly seems sufficient,” she continued.

It was Nikki who narrated Bridger and his sister’s story in an Instagram post, where she quoted the little boy as saying, “If someone had to die, I thought it should be me.” Their story was praised by many netizens from different parts of the world and even caught the attention of some celebrities, including actors who played the roles of the A-list superheroes — the Avengers.

Chris Evans, or Captain America, had said that he will be giving Bridger an authentic Captain America shield, while Tom Holland, a.k.a Spider-Man and Bridger’s favorite Avenger, invited the young boy to the set of Spider-Man 3.

The “genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist” Tony Stark, played by Robert Downey, Jr., on the other hand, said he will sending Bridger a “better” gift on his next birthday.
