MANILA, Philippines — A report from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said that a fire hit the third floor of a shopping mall in Ortigas Tuesday night.
MMDA, in its Twitter account posts: “FIRE ALERT: Fire at Robinsons Galleria (Department store) 3rd Alarm as of 11:10PM.”
The fire also caused heavy traffic around the area, according to a television report.
Meanwhile, guests of the Holiday Inn, whose lobby is connected to the mall, have been reportedly evacuated.
Firefighters were able to declare a fire out at 5:47 a.m. on Wednesday.
Initial reports said that the fire started from the mall’s toys and clothes section.
The mall will be closed for two days and will re-open on November 1 at 12 noon.
