The Coach Ramil De Jesus-led squad have completed their 2019 Philippine Superliga (PSL) All-Filipino Conference first round of games with a sweep, finishing it off with an easy three-set win against Marinerang Pilipina last Thursday, July 11 at the Muntinlupa Sports Center. The set scores finished 25-7, 25-9, and 25-19.

Filipina-Hawaiian Kalei Mau and former De La Salle University (DLSU) Lady Spiker Ara Galang both delivered for their team, Mau scoring 12 points off 10 kills and two service aces, while Galang delivered 10 points in total. Majoy Baron and Kianna Dy scored eight and six points respectively.

For Marinerang Pilipinas, Chiara Permentilla had the best performance at nine points, 12 digs, and four excellent receptions.

F2 Logistics head coach De Jesus said he was excited to see the results of strengthening the core of his team since Mau’s arrival, stating in Filipino, “It’s a huge deal for us. Our morale was boosted plus we were able to gain confidence again. At least we saw it again, like during the first time it’s ever happened, since our players haven’t returned yet, we were able to sweep,” adding, “It’s actually Petron who is always the team that sweeps,” referring to the defending champions that they were able to defeat last June 27.

Yet despite the spotless performance, Coach Ramil believes there are still a lot of improvements to be made, revealing, “The first two sets were okay, but the third set, those who came off the bench weren’t ready.” He adds, “At least the first six were kind of able to gel and they already know each other. The opponents became aggressive late, which is why we’re able to get ahead by two set.” Throughout the match, F2 Logistics only made eight errors, while the winless Marinerang Pilipina struggled with 25.

Round two of the season begins for F2 Logistics on Thursday, July 18, as they face the Sta. Lucia Realtors at the Filoil Flying V Centre. Marinerang Pilipina, on the other hand, continues their search for that first win as they face the Cignal HD Spikers on Saturday, July 13 at the Alonte Sports Center.
