Twenty-seven-year-old Teresita Ssen “Winwyn” Marquez, the first Reina Hispanoamericana Filipina titleholder and daughter of actors Joey Marquez and Alma Moreno, has officially graduated from her Teacher Certificate Program at Southville International School last Wednesday, May 29.
Sharing to her 718,000 followers in a post, the beauty queen smiles saying, “Southville International School touched my life and now it’s my turn to touch the lives of other people through teaching. It has always been a dream of mine to become a teacher and now I’m a step closer. Always be curious. There’s a lot to learn about the world.”
Winwyn also references this being her third major achievement proceeding her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) Major in Marketing Management at San Beda College Alabang in 2012 and bagging the top crown during Reina Hispanoamericana in 2017. The official Southville International School Instagram account goes on to say how their alumna is “a homegrown monarch and a beauty queen!”
Winwyn first made waves in the entertainment industry when she joined Binibining Pilipinas 2015 and finished as one of the top 15 finalists, also named Best in National Costume, Miss Talent, and “She’s so JAG.” She was expected to compete for her final opportunity again this year, but she announces to her followers last March 14 that she “will not be able to join BBP since [she has] an existing contract and projects lined up.” She explains, “I’m so humbled by your thoughts and words of encouragement in joining this pageant season. It’s very heartwarming. There will always be a part of me that wants to compete in the pageant setting and it hurts that I won’t be able to join, but I know I can’t do everything at the same time,” adding, “I’ve been very fortunate to share my passion for competing in the pageant world and represent our country the best way I can. I am so grateful to contribute in bringing home a crown since that’s not easy to do.”
The Parañaque native concludes, “It was important for me to show the talent of the Filipino on the world stage. I will never forget my experience as your first Filipino Reina Hispanoamericana and for the lifelong friendships I’ve made along the way.”
Besides pageantry, Winwyn has also starred in Kapuso shows like Wagas, Magpakailanman, Karelasyon, Encantadia, and Daddy’s Gurl. She also had two movies under regal films entitled “Unli Life” and “Time and Again.”
