Classes at the Far Eastern University (FEU) Manila and Far Eastern University Tech were cancelled on Thursday, and all students were evacuated as a result of a “suspected bomb threat.”

School authorities ordered all students to “vacate the premises immediately in an orderly fashion,” posting the directive on its official Facebook page, as well as announcing it on the University’s campuses.

FEU officials said that the university was “working closely with Security Personnel to address the situation and secure the campus” after the bomb threat was received early Thursday morning.

Communications Department manager of FEU Manila, Weng Reyes said via an interview with radio station dzBB that their security office received the bomb threat via a text message Thursday morning. This prompted school official to suspend all classes, as well as work in the university’s different offices.

“We prioritize the safety of our students,” Reyes said.

The campus remained closed all of Thursday, as the situation was carefully monitored by the Manila Police district.
