Two months after speculations a relationship with Arjo Atayde started, and a couple of days before celebrating her 24th birthday, the Kapuso actress has finally confirmed she is dating the Kapamilya star.
According to screenshots of a post of her blog, which has since been deleted, Maine immediately shares, “Here’s the statement and confirmation you have been waiting for. It’s true, I am dating Arjo.” She then elaborates, “You may have listed a long list of reasons why I shouldn’t but we all know it’s made out of hatred, anger and disappointment. I choose not to judge his character for whatever he’s done in the past because that does not define him as a person. I was raised to never judge a person, to always see the goodness of people no matter how other people see them.”
To conclude her words, Maine touches on the topic of the “hatred” she has gotten since the speculation, stating, “You may not be required to love the people around the person you idolize but I don’t think it’s too much to show them at least some respect.”
Maine went into detail as well on how Arjo went to Bulacan “to personally talk to [her] parents and tell them he has nothing but good intentions for their daughter.” She also apologized to AlDub fans because she “cannot be YayaDub forever.”
In January of this year, Arjo first admitted that the two “Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles” stars were seeing each other, posting a photo of the actress captioned “save the best for last.” Maine followed that up with her own image with the 28-year old at the launch of her collaboration with MAC Cosmetics Studio Fix Foundation.
Last Monday, March 4, Arjo posted a black and white image with Maine for her birthday captioned, “My reason for being.”
