The camp of Vice President (VP) Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo will not spare even a bit of their time to respond to the challenge of resigned Communications Assistant Secretary Esther Margaux “Mocha” Uson to face her “eyeliner to eyeliner.”

“Pasensiya na si Mocha. ‘Di tulad niya, si VP Leni kasalukuyang nagtratrabaho para sa ating mga kababayan, at walang oras para pansinin ang mga chikka niya (Sorry to Mocha. Unlike her, VP Leni is currently working for our fellow Filipinos and she does not have the time to pay attention to what Uson is saying),” lawyer Barry Gutierrez, Robredo’s spokesperson, said in a tweet on Thursday, October 4.

“Salamat na lang sa imbitasyon, pero busy kami sa totoong trabaho (Thank you for the invite, but we are busy on our real work),” he added.

Uson, in an interview with UNTV, challenged the Vice President to face her “eye to eye, eyeliner to eyeliner” after Robredo’s camp told the former Palace official that her resignation was not a ‘loss’ for the country.

It added that even Uson left her post, she will still be held liable for all the controversies she had caused when she was still serving as the assistant secretary of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO).

“Huwag lang siyang magkamaling isipin na dahil nag-resign na siya, hindi na siya mananagot para sa lahat ng kasinungalingan at paninirang ipinasabog niya (Do not even think that just because she resigned, she will not be liable for all of her lies and vilification she had floated),” Gutierrez earlier said to Uson.

However, Uson fired back by saying that it is the Vice President who is full of lies and not her.

“Kung kasinungalingan lang, nako, sino kaya ang totoong sinungaling? Maski nga iyang posisyon n’yo bilang VP ay isang malaking kasinungalingan (When it comes to lies, who do you think is the real liar? Even your position as vice president is a big lie),” the former assistant secretary said, apparently referring to the electoral protest Robredo is facing in connection to the 2016 vice presidential race.

Uson announced her resignation in a Senate hearing on the PCOO budget in 2019 last Wednesday. She described this as a form of ‘sacrifice’ so that the PCOO’s budget would be approved.

Despite her decision to leave her position, the Office of the Ombudsman said it will continue their investigation of the complaints filed against Uson.
