MANILA—A plea for bail petitioned by Senator Ramon Revilla Jr.’s co-accused was denied on Thursday by the Sandiganbayan.

The petition denied was filed by Ronald John Lim and and John Raymond de Asis following the plunder and graft cases filed against them in connection with their alleged involvement in the pork barrel scam.

The joint motion of the two respondents was denied in an order released by Associate Justice Efren dela Cruz, chairperson of the 1st Division of the anti-graft court.

Dela Cruz said that the two respondents are yet to submit themselves before the court.

Meanwhile, bail hearings of the other respondents including Revilla and the alleged pork scam mastermind, Janet Lim-Napoles are yet to be held.

Revilla, who is now detained at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center will have his bail hearing on July 10.

The same goes with Napoles, who is also detained at a police camp in Sta. Rosa Laguna.

Aside from cases regarding her involvement in the pork scam, Napoles is also facing charges of serious illegal detention filed by whistleblower Benhur Luy.
