President Rodrigo Duterte will try his best to fix the faction tiff ongoing inside the country’s ruling party, Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban).
In a radio interview on Saturday, Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Bong Go said Duterte will hold a caucus to fix the disunion of PDP-Laban when he told him about the national assembly of last Friday where a certain faction was electing “new leaders,” replacing Senate President Aquilino Pimentel III and former speaker Pantaleon Alvarez.
Clueless about having faction inside the party, Go said: “I did not know about these factions. I told him, you’re chairman of both factions. I’m also auditor of both factions. So he said, he will just call for a caucus and will try to unite them.”
Go also said that upon reaching out to Rogelio Galicia, the “newly elected” PDP-Laban President and Pimentel, both were willing to have their groups unified by the Chief Executive.
The PDP-Laban brought Duterte to the seat of the presidency, it would be a waste to not try to fix this, he added.
