By , on April 12, 2018

Chinese president Xi Jinping is expected to visit the Philippines this November, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said.

Xi is set to come to the country after attending world leader’s meeting at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Papua New Guinea which will be held on November 12 to 18.

The news of Xi’s visit to the Philippines came after President Rodrigo Duterte’s trip to China where he attended the Boao Forum for Asia and engaged in a bilateral meeting with Xi in a bid to enhance the relationship of the two countries.

While in China, Duterte sealed business deals for the Philippines that focus on energy, tourism, agriculture, fisheries, infrastructure, land reclamation, and creation of 10,800 jobs.

It can also be recalled that before leaving for China, Duterte has expressed admiration for the generosity of Xi and the latter’s willingness to always support the Philippines in various projects.
