Daniel Padilla, Angelica Panganiban bag major awards in 65th FAMAS awards

The 65th Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) Awards came to a climax on Thursday night when Kapamilya actors Daniel Padilla and Angelica Panganiban was declared as Best Actor for the film “Barcelona: A Love Untold” and Best Actress for the movie “The Unmarried Wife,” respectively.

Daniel is also part of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2017 entry “Gandarrapiddo: The Revenger Sqaud,” along with the phenomenal star Vice Ganda and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach.

Avid supporters have swamped Daniel and Angelica with congratulatory message in their respective social media accounts. Daniel and Angelica may be together in Japan when they were announced winners at FAMAS Awards.

In her latest Instagram post, Angelica posted a group picture which hinted that she was with Daniel in Golden Gai, Tokyo, Japan, where they are believed to be filming the upcoming comedy film “Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes,” along with Judy Ann Santos.

Daniel climbed to the top over other Best Actor nominees such as Dingdong Dantes for “The Unmarried Wife”, Joshua Garcia for “Vince, Kath, and James”, Joem Bascon for “Kusina”, and Sandino Martin for “Ringgo.”

Meanwhile, Angelica beat other Best Actress nominees like Kathryn Bernardo for Barcelona: A Love Untold,” Angel Locsin for “Everything About Her,” and Janice De Belen for “Ringgo.”

Other major awards went to the way of “Barcelona: A Love Untold” as it won the Best Picture; Best Director for the film’s director, Olivia Lamasan; and Best Production Design for Shari Marie Montiague.

Liza Diño for “Ringgo” and Ricky Davao for “Iadya Mo Kami” also bagged the Best Supporting Actress and Best Supporting Actor, respectively.

Meanwhile, Aurel Claro Bilbao for “Everything About Her” won the Best Sound Design, Vanessa Valdez for “The Unmarried Wife” got the Best Screenplay, and Best Editing goes to Beng Bandong of “Vince, Kath, and James.”

Ivan Dorschner and Maine Mendoza were also awarded the German Moreno Youth Achievement special award.
