Duterte orders DAP president to step down

By , on December 27, 2017

President Rodrigo Duterte has ordered Development Academy of the Philippines President Elba Cruz to step down from her post as her term had expired six months ago.

She was asked to vacate her post in a letter from Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea dated December 18, communicating the order from the president.

“Considering that your Term of Office expired on 30 June 2017 and that you been serving in the DAP Board in a holdover capacity, we now wish to inform you that, upon instructions of the President, your service in such holdover status is hereby discontinued effective immediately,” Medialdea said.

Cruz was also instructed to “to turn over all official documents, papers and properties in her possession to the proper office of the DAP to ensure uninterrupted delivery.”

This directive of Duterte came after a DAP employee wrote to the President to oust Cruz.

DAP Personnel Association (Dapper) president Gerald Cruz told Duterte in a letter dated Dec. 8 that Cruz should be fired for committing transgressions in the office and for frequent personal and official travels since she was appointed on April 3.
